Cairns Airport is situated in Tropical North Queensland and is one of Australia’s leading airports, providing air links to a range of domestic and international locations. Nestled between mountains, mangroves and the Coral Sea, Cairns Airport is the gateway to World Heritage Great Barrier Reef and tropical rainforests of North Queensland.
Cairns Airport provides direct domestic flights to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin and Townsville as well as Ayers Rock (Uluru) and various regional centres.
There are also direct international flights to Auckland (seasonal), Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka, Port Moresby and Bali.

Domestic Terminal (T2) Overview
Cairns is unlike any other place in the world and our customers are seeking encounters that emulate the unique Tropical North experience. Predominately a leisure port, Cairns Airport Domestic Terminal boasts international terminal quality dwell time with an average of up to 2 hours.
Cairns Airport Domestic Terminal completed a $55 million upgrade in July 2020. The new-look terminal increased the departures lounge to 10,000sqm, and has an improved layout, additional common area seating and all new dining and speciality retail options.
International Terminal (T1) Overview
Cairns Airport International Terminal comprises three areas for activations:
1. Departures Hall – Airside
The Cairns Airport International Departures Hall comprises a Duty-Free store along with speciality and food and beverage operators. With the average passenger arriving 1.5 hours prior to departure and spending up to one hour shopping within the departures hall this area is a ideal for those businesses who are seeking to promote local produce and higher end products.
2. Arrivals Hall – Landside
The Arrivals Hall welcomed over 340,000 international passengers in FY2019 and the area comprises a food and beverage / convenience operator and money exchange service.
3. Check-In
Talk directly with international visitors to our region.
The international arrivals hall is a very popular site for local promotors and tour operators and limited sites are available.
By 2040 traffic through our terminals is expected to grow to around 10 million passengers a year.
There any multiple sites available both within the Domestic Departures Hall and the Baggage Claim Area in the arrivals hall.
Cairns Airport also offers sites external to terminals for that unique promotional opportunity.
