Cairns Airport advises of the following planned roadworks and associated detours that will be in place over the coming weekend of Saturday 3 June and Sunday 4 June.
Asphalt resurfacing works will be undertaken at Mick Borzi Drive roundabout (near the Air Traffic Control Tower) this weekend to provide improved surfacing and drainage on this section of the airport’s road network.
There will be various traffic diversions in place across the three stages of the project. These diversions will impact most of the airport’s road traffic for the period of the works. Traffic management will be in place throughout the works and this, along with signage, will direct drivers through the detours.
Stage One works will commence at 0600hrs on Saturday 3 June and are expected to be completed by 1800 hrs on the same day.
Stage Two works are expected to commence at 0600hrs on Sunday 4 June followed by Stage Three works later on the same day. All works are expected to be completed by 1800 hrs Sunday, weather permitting.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank people using the airport road network for their patience during these works.
