Cairns Airport is proud to recognise our wonderful Tropical Ambassadors during National Volunteer’s Week.
The Tropical Ambassador program is run in partnership with Tourism Tropical North Queensland. Since it commenced at Cairns Airport in 2007 these volunteers have been on hand every day to offer a friendly welcome and helpful information to people using the airport.
They offer assistance with wayfinding and answer queries about our airport facilities and processes as well as the ground transport options available on arrival. People also ask them about the destination and what’s happening in our region during their visit.
Between them our Ambassadors offer an extensive range of language skills, something which is a huge help when assisting some of the 1.5 million or so international visitors who travel through Cairns Airport’s terminals each year.
A huge thank you to each and every one of our 30 or more Tropical Ambassadors.
