Cairns Airport has announced today that Menzies Aviation will take over management of the Reef Lounge in the T1 International terminal.
Menzies operates in 200 airport locations around the world across six continents, and has an established track record in ground handling, cargo, fuelling, executive and offline services. Menzies commenced operations at Cairns Airport last year as a cargo terminal operator.
Mark Brinkworth, Regional Vice President of Menzies South East Australian arm said “the expansion of our services at Cairns Airport is a natural progression for the business, which is why Menzies is excited to open the Reef Lounge, our first airport lounge in Australia. We manage airport lounges all over the world and are excited to now be able to offer passengers the convenience and comfort of a facility in Cairns.”
Menzies is currently in talks with the many international airlines that fly from Cairns in regard to providing lounge access to their premium cabin and loyalty program members. Menzies will also offer a pay-per-use option to all international passengers. The new arrangement will commence on August 1.
Chief Commercial Officer of Cairns Airport Tracey Groves said “we’re delighted to see Menzies Aviation move into the Reef Lounge. There’ll be a seamless move from the current arrangement with Cathay Pacific to Menzies, and passengers will continue to enjoy the same comfort and experience they have had at Cairns Airport for many years.”
