Cairns Airport congratulates SilkAir on the second anniversary of its direct service between Singapore and Cairns.
Chief Executive Officer, Norris Carter, said that in the past two years thousands of passengers have enjoyed the convenience of these direct flights which are a key link in Cairns Airport’s international network.
“The service gives international visitors from Asia and Europe easy access to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, while thousands of locals have taken advantage of the service to fly to Singapore and beyond,” Mr Carter said.
“SilkAir introduced the service in May 2015 and over the past two years has built it up to now operate four direct services each week year round, with five services per week set to operate during July and August this year to meet peak period demand.”
SilkAir’s network spans 53 destinations in 15 countries while the Singapore Airlines and SilkAir networks combined offer 102 destinations in 34 countries.
